ADDITOOL PROJECT

The ADDITOOL project, which is a continuation of the ADDISPACE project (www.addispace.eu), will focus on an important industrial sector: Tooling.

Based on an in-depth analysis of the sector, the consortium will carry out a short, medium and long-term study of Metal Additive Manufacturing (FAM) determining, as accurately as possible, the needs of the tooling industry and taking advantage of the maturity of all available technologies.

Furthermore, ADDITOOL will try to make the MAM (Metallic Additive Manufacturing) processes more reliable through 4 pilot projects proposed by the SMEs associated to this project. The pilots will not only be demonstrators, but also concrete cases of application in the tooling sector. They will be tested under real conditions of use, including a technical and economic study of each one of them. Specific materials will also be developed and characterized to better meet the needs of the sector.

In addition, ADDITOOL will facilitate the transfer of knowledge to the entire SUDOE sector through new educational programs for engineering students as well as for people in professional reconversion, with the support of national public organizations. The transfer of knowledge and skills from ADDITOOL will be based on greater mobility of professors, researchers and PhD students.

Finally, the catalog that was worked on within the framework of the ADDISPACE project will be updated, which refers to all the MAM actors in the SUDOE region, integrating the actors of the tooling sector.
